January's Books

So, I have started my book goal for the year (one classic, one spiritual each month). I've decided to let Anthony chose my spiritual books because he is constantly telling me I should read this and that, and now he gets a whole 12 books that I promise I will read. He has already started a little pile. = )

The classics are up to me though. I have two that I know I am going to read because I already have them, but I have already informed Anthony that I plan to purchase the others. I guess you could say that my love affair with beautiful books is continuing and as I have begun to encourage Adele in her own efforts as a book collector, I am getting antsy to surround myself with all sorts of lovelies.

Okay, so this month my selections are...

Classic: The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle...that's right people, I'm reading a Sherlock Holmes mystery. Okay, so it is one of my random books, but I think I am learning that sometimes the random ones are the most enjoyable (i.e. Tess of the D'Urbervilles).

Spiritual: The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis...I have read all of the Narnia books, but not a single other work by Lewis. Shameful. Well, that's what this goal is for!!

Anyway, so there you go. Here's to enriching my mind, or at least getting me to shut the tv off!!

New Year = New Tradition

So, I had this thought the other day about how we never videotape our kids and how they are just so darn cute and so I decided to start a new tradition of taping little end/beginning of the year interviews with them. We'll see if I keep it up...I hope I do!

Anyway, so here you go! The first videos...
