Brothers.

These two guys kill me.  I love that they have each other.  Here's a little taste of what you can find them doing EVERY day after lunch...

Pictures.

I've been lazy with the blog lately.  Sorry.  But here's a little taste of what has been going on lately...

coffee with this guy after 4 parent teacher conferences
bagels at Nana and Papa's house
3 generations of "ballerinas" in one class!!
love each kiddos personal style. "I'm wearing green." Yep.
gotta love it when they wake you up early and then fall right back to sleep...nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby
love watching the olympics with these six every night
Happy Tuesday everyone!

It took 16 months...

Today our little man decided to change.  You have to catch him when he doesn't think anyone is watching, but he changed.  And he won't seem like a baby much longer...

For love of a snow day.

I love snow days. Loved them as a kid. Love them as an adult. Playing in the snow. Warm treats to come inside for. Movies during the day. Working on a few projects in the house. I love all of it.

On Monday, we found out that school was going to be canceled on Tuesday because of the impending snow storm. We were all excited and decided to let the kids sleep in the basement. We slept in until 7:30, the kids woke up and watched a movie before they came up.  It started out so promising.  And then...

Lu wouldn't eat breakfast. She decided to head up to her bed and a few minutes later we found her puking in her toilet. Matthias was a grouchy mess all day. Adele wasn't feeling the best and took a long nap. Anthony wasn't really feeling well either and also went to bed. The snow plow didn't come within 25 feet of our driveway and I had to shovel our way out. It was over a foot of snow.  Then I saw the plow and chased up the hill after him asking him to come back and do a better job. He wasn't very nice about it, but he did come back...

And it has now been 3 DAYS of this.

And my love of snow days is being tried.

But we are doing all we can to keep the love alive and I even just sent Lucy outside (her decision, I'm not that mean) with her puke bucket.

They all lasted about 30 minutes before they came in because it is so cold out there. Sigh.

Hello again!

I've been a little lazy with my blog lately...but no one really complained, so whatever.

Well, we finished up our month of "letting go". We successfully donated or threw out something every day of January. I'll admit there were days where we just opened a bin in the unfinished part of the basement and handed stuff for the kids to take upstairs and donate or gave them a stack of old paperwork to shred, but there were also days when we spent more than an hour sorting through clothes and toys and even a few beautiful days digging through the garage.

We took 4 or 5 trips to The Salvation Army to dump off things. We actually filled our trash can on a number of occasions. We went through things that we have needed to go through for a LONG time. We have 6 or 7 large plastic bins that are now EMPTY in our basement.

It has felt amazing.  There is still a ton for me to do, but it was a good start and it was amazing to see how the family embraced the idea.  Not once did the kids complain about having to do it and there were days when they worked really hard.  It was just so great.

And we've decided to keep a donation box in the storage of our basement. I've learned that if you have a box available, you are way more likely to put things in it.

Anywho, so this month we are giving up sweets...only allowing exceptions for parties which we have 4 of.  I'll let you know how it goes!

In the meanwhile, I have a new little project that I'm working on.  Here are a few glimpses...

Stay tuned for the complete reveal!
